Ok, i have a question about blu ray drives. i have a 160gb ps3 (CECHP01) blu ray drive with a model bmd-031 logic board in it. and i just bought a YLOD ps3(CECHG01) that just needs a drive, but when i put the board that the new ps3 came with into the blu ray drive the hookups are in the wrong spot and the cable that plugs the blu ray drive into the motherboard is wide instead of a small one like the P01 has. so i was just going to put the whole drive and board from the P01 into the G01 and use those ZIP files to re-marry the logic board to the motherboard. but the only problem is, is that the motherboard takes the wide ribbon cable and the logic board i have is thin, is there any sort of adapter out there i could use to make a wide ribbon cable into a thin one?

i can't post pics because i dont have 30 posts. but type this in your URL to see the pics. photobucket(dot)com/firebirdjimbops3

I think you did the same mistake that I did, when I bought my second PS3.
I only checked on ways to replace the PS3, but didn't check if there were indeed different versions of BluRay drives.

Now I have 3 PS3's. One with TB dongle, one legal with busted Bluray on OFW 4.11 and a broken PS3 where only the power supply and Bluray is functioning.
That'll teach me to check up on PS3 versions
