Hey All,

I registered after lurking for quite a while regarding PS3 hacking and homebrew. I have my PS3 (Phat, 80 GB, no PS2 support) still on firmware 3.41. I was using the Palm Pre Jailbreak to load pkg files before the whole root key release went down. I've been putting off upgrading for a while now.

I'm not particularly interested in backup play, however the emulation stuff is interesting. I mainly would like to use my PS3 as an HTPC.

I currently have a full PC on my TV and it's bulky and annoying. My home setup includes a Fedora 12 Amahi Home Server that hosts all my media. I have video and audio in various formats. (audio is 99% MP3, video is a mix of AVI and MKV).

Is there currently a pkg file or application like XBMC for the PS3 that would let me replace my HTPC and stream the files from my linux server to my Home Theater in with 720p support?

Also, if I was interested in loading backup images, what is the best loader to use that supports and external HDD? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Edit: Also if this is the wrong forum I apologize and please direct me to the right location. Thanks again.
