My Inectus2 arrives tomorrow so I can try and dump whats left of the NAND.

I was wondering as there is no power going through the mobo will the infectus still be able to dump the NAND ?

If not then if I power the mobo from my PC will that then make it able to get the dump off the NAND or am I going about it all the wrong way ?

without power it aint gonna work.
what you can do is directly power the nand with batteries.
do not power it from any source connected to the mains as it will create groundloops.
attach signal wires of the Infectus2 then followed by the batteries then dump the nand and disconnect batteries first then signalwires.

that would be even better idea to power it from the board itself. but it should not exceed usb power specs. i have no info bout the device, so cant say much of it. it wont hurt usb port as it blocks itself when there is to much powerdrain and reset itself automaticly (most of the times that is). you could also use 2 zener diodes 3.3v on the 5v output(or 9v block battery) if that is what it needs.
this might be handy : http://www.lancos.com/prog.html it is a universal serial/parallel port reader/programmer program. i use it for 99% of the IC's. it also dumps any foreign formats and stuff
    good luck with your effords
you succeeding would be thnx enough for me
