    Hello,

I have big and very strange problem after installing progskeet. I install the chip on console with JSD-001 motherboard, the NOR is Samsung K8P2716UZC-QI4D.

I install Progskeet then I check all the points with multimeter. I have than that many times. I assemble the console and plug all the cables, put the switch in on position and power the console. The console turn on but there was no picture, the power button stay green. I try to reset the video, try to go to recovery mode. The console beeps like it should but nothing happen. So I assumed something wrong with the wiring and I check everything with multimeter agan. All was perfect. I try to make a dump but it gave me one error on one sector.

I remove the chip, assemble again the console and some thing - it power on, the led is in green but the console don't work. I try to connect controller and it doesn't respond so the console is not working at all. Every attempt to reset the video or go in service mode failed. But it beeps like it should. I resolder the chip and dump the nor, it is good clean copy.

I don't know what can go wrong. Can I damage it when I open, the thermal past was glued a little so I needed to pull the motherboard little to release it. But it wasn't so hard in the past I had to pull harder on other consoles.

This is what happens when you screw something up. You would get the same result if you leave the SB disabled or the enable pin high etc. Please check all your solder connections in reference to ground to make sure there are no shorts.

i had that problem, but only while the switched i had soldered to progskeet was set to off,
when i set it to on, then switched the power on at the back of the ps3 then pressed the power button on ps3 my ps3 loaded up as normal i already had progskeet connected to laptop via usb and as ps3 powered on i heard the bing/beep of progskeet being reconised by the laptop.

you have got a switch soldered to progskeet? and you have removed r8 from progskeet board?

i think that their is a short or a broken trace, i think that the nor chip is not getting any power maybe vcc point is damaged or leading up to their im gonna try and work out where the nor chip needs a power feed and were i can jump power to it from (instead of taking power from vcc point.

ok mate disregard above, my ps3 has the wireless/ usb card attatched to the main board by a ribbon going left to right, (the right side were the power button is left usb side)
all my problems have stemed from this faulty ribbon! try just turning your ribbon round and placing it the other way, this seems to have solved the issue for me i have a spare one lieing around here somewere i'm gonna fit that when i get chance.

hope this help give it a blast and let me know mate
