HI i have a CECHG03 40gb ps3 and im having problems marrying the logic board to the motherboard.
The motherboard number is SEM 001-875-384-11.
From what i have read the CECHG03 model is the only ps3 that has multipal logic boards that can be used.
    CECHG: BMD-002
    CECHG: SEM-001 1-875-384-21 : BMD-003 1-875-350-31
I have tried 5 different logic oards and none of them work and i cant understand why.
Logic board numbers are as follows.
    BMD 002 1-874-277-33 X 3
    BMD 002 1-874-277-23
    BMD 003 1-875-350-31
Each of the bmd 002 boards have the same letters but different numbers on them in the top right hand corner IE :A1 , A2 , A3 & A4
AND THEY ALL USE 400AAA LASERS apart from 003 which is a 410a.
Could someody please tell me where im going wrong if they are the wrong boards which one should i use and if there the correct 1's why are they not working and what else could be the faqult.

    thanks for any help

cant be done sorry, i work for console repair company. each logic board is locked to its matching motherboard. have to keep to original board unfortunatly. i find alot people say stuff on net to trick others to trying, hoping someone will try to see if works, or to make there console faulty on purpose.

    Hey guys,

I have had the same issue on several ps3s.

The solution to this would be as follows

#1 Purchase direct replacement board (or in your case a compatible board). I would stick to exact if at all possible.

#2 Remove firmware chip from replacement board first, should be a small black chip with about 8 legs, look around the net. (I applied new solder to the legs, gel-fluxed the chip. and used a heat-gun set at about 320)
USE TWEEZERS, the chip will be hot. Set it aside.

#3 Remove the ORIGINAL firmware chip the same way, be sure to separate and identify each chip.

#4 Clean the REPLACEMENT boards pads with your soldering iron, flux, and heat-gun the ORIGINAL firmware chip to the new board

    #5 Install and enjoy.

This should allow you to replace your drive board in any PS3, without having to remarry or even worry about 3.55 updates.

If you run into any issues I would suggest a rebuild of your system database through safe mode.

Feel free to post this amongst the net, I own a repair facility and would like to help out where I can. ***MANI808*** If you need someone to help you do this, PM me, we can work something out.

~PS~ I need a good supplier of ps3 slim drive boards. Or hell even if you have a couple laying around hit me up. I cant find the specific one I need!
