Does anyone know how to fix the error code 8002f225 on the ps3 slim?My harddrive is no good to copy files to a new harddrive.

What firmware are you on and what is the ps3 you are using and what is stock.

It is asking for firware 3.56 or higher the model is cech-2501B this was bought on ebay, rlod fixed gpu but it had a hardive that was not original the hard drve was bad.

That firmware has had problems before. There are two different firmware of 3.56 one is for ps3s that have the real hard drive in them. And the other one is for ps3s that have different hard drive. Ok to fix it just get the correct firmware for it. If you are on 3.56 then download the correct one. Put the ps3 in safe mode by holding the power button into it turns it self off. Then release and press again into you hear two beeps. The firmware if your ps3 is on 3.56 is Ps3 firmware 3.56 fixed. Can't post links in the forum put if you google it you will find it.

However if you are on 3.55 or lower don't install the 3.56. Thanks and let me know if you have any questions.

hi regards to racer saying 2 versions of the 3.56 fw, this is incorrect there has not been 2 version, for that fw version nor any others, basically if you have a new hard drive slot it in and install a firmware, if asking to install 3.56 or higher, this means the current fw is 3.56, it wont be 3.55 or lower.
it asks for 3.56 as its been installed, if it was 3.55 it would never ask for 3.56 as it never knew it excisted it, firmware dont go up like 3.55, 3.56, 3.57 etc. so no chance is the firmware 3.55
if you intend to not downgrade the fw or hack it, then download the latest update, by putting it on a fat32 flash pen drive. on the pen drive you need to create 2 folders one named PS3 in caps like shown there, the another folder with the PS3 folder called UPDATE make sure in upper case characters, then put the pup file in the update folder.
at screen when shows up on power saying install 3.56, insert pen drive in usb and follow instructions

Try with the 3.66 update if the 3.56 doesn't work. Either way you won't be able to hack the console unless you have hardware to downgrade
