hi guys i'm wondering if anyone tried to plug blu-ray drive via usb and enter his disc and check if it work with openmanger or backup manager

but i bet it will not work but if we find a way to emulate the blu-ray drive extrenal which will be like (dev_usb3) to app_home/app_game or dev_bd which will allow us to play the games from a discs for broken blu-ray drives ps3 owners and it may let us play backup games also idk so hackers try to find a way

edit: i think it is possible because we can direct a folder on the ps3 hdd or ext hdd to dev_bd or apphome/app_game

i think we should emulate it to apphome/app_game for working bluray drives in the ps3 and for broken ps3 to dev_bd

edit2: if someone know how to edit payloads to let dev_usb3 or any of them to emulate to app_home or dev_bd please share so guys who own a blu-ray drive can test it if it can play backupgames from ext bd drive or original games

sony want £100 to fix my ps3.. then prob update it to 3.50 too so they can bugger off!

we can prob get bluray drives for around £40 maybe less ...

If you have the directory of files on the Blu-Ray set up as GAMEZ\BLxSxxxxx, then it should work perfectly. Not just with Blu-Ray external drives, but DVD external drives as well. Wouldn't the PS3 just read it as if it is a USB drive? Basically I think you've just figured out a way people can play games via a blank disc, except it obviously requires an external drive rather than using the PS3's actual drive.

As for your theory of whether an external drive can be redirected, I'm not so sure. I think the actual PS3 drive is required for authentication purposes, and a way to bypass this hasn't been figured out (otherwise we'd be able to play all games without a disc perfectly).

yeah i think it prob would... but thats not what i thought he ment... i thought it was a sollution well possible sollution for people with broken internal drives... and games that require a disc still

But can't we already play backups on a PS3 with a broken BD Drive? I thought we could do that since the diskless upgrade on psgroove's payload.

He doesn't want that. Well that's all fine and dandy, but he wants to use an external in place of the internal. So he can play his retail games or whatever. Watch movies, you know.

Well guys i wanna this for 2 main reasons
1)play my backups from discs to save hdd space
2)play games backups disks for broken devices

and well if thats happens a lot of people will start selling copied games

nah BD cost too much money .while other places you can get them (games) for free.
