yeh me but i need a tsop48 adapter
im really tempted to get on board here. This type of mod is right up my ally. Ive done lots of mod chips and played with alot of hardware modding with the satellite systems. If its doable, i might be able to get it done.
What about the hash check that the syscon does. We would need a second syscon as well.
Otherwise once you update you wont be able to boot the other flash because it is a lower version than what the syscon expects.
Edit: I just read through the pdf, these guys are talking about maybe "patching the checks out"
I could see that happening on 3.55 and lower.
so what r u saying? the added chip carries 3.55 cfw with the hash checks removed. And the original chip and syscon are on the latest firmware.
Patch LV1 in the 3.55 firmware on the added flash to not do the checks.Code:Firmware hash checks are located on SYSCON EEPROM, aparently these checks are run within Indi info manager on LV1. These compare the hashes stored in syscon with the files stored on flash. If the checks fail, the console does not boot. We could get around this by using dual-banking on SYSCON or by patching the checks out.
Syscon and the original flash are allowed carry the latest firmware
Dual banking may actually be an easier method. If may be able to 'downgrade' as it were console on 3.56+ 'temporarily' by pulling DIAG_MODE or BACKUP_MODE to enable the manufactured firmware to be written on the console. then you would need to switch harddrives to an old/ reformated harddrive to flash <3.56 back to hdd,
Just rambling here, wonder if defyboy has tried this yet???
It has been confirmed working
