Downgrading PS3

Hello,

Is it possible to downgrade a ps3 by reformatting it so it is blank and formatted to FAT32 and going to the recovery menu selecting the system update having a usb with the firmware needed for example 3.41 or 3.55 and download it. I haven't tried it myself but i was wondering if it is possible.

hey, unfortunatly not as the firmware is stored on a nand or nor on the ps3 board, not just on the hdd and its the nand or nor that needs to be altered to downgrade firmware.

Like what charliedflea said, you will need a flasher. Progskeet (I'm waiting to see what Progskeet Gitbrew will be releasing as they have teamed up with Progskeet guys) or E3 Flasher.
