Dowgrading ps3 from 4.00 ofw to 3.55 cfw ???

Hi all ,

I'm new to this forum and i have a question about downgrading firmware on my ps3 and install cfw on it to play gamebackups and so on.
I have a old fat ps3 60 b model and it now has 4.0 firmware on it . Can i downgrade it to 3.55 so i can play backups on it and install custom firmware?
Is it possible without opening up your ps3 and handle with the hardware like the e3 flasher ? Maybe there is a way to put it on usb and downgrade it that way .

Currently the only way to downgrade from OFW 3.56+ is by opening up your PS3 and installing some kind of Nand reader. The E3 flasher option is no good for you as you have a 256MB NAND and the E3 doesn't work with that. The E3 only works on 16MB NOR systems.

I believe you can use Progskeet but I'll let someone else answer that part.

There is a thread on this lol says which ps3's are compatible with what downgrader. Progskeet is no fun btw unless you like soldering
