Damaged drive control board? Integrated into MOBO
I have a slim console which is the model that has the built-in drive control board. System was stuck in update loop when I bought it. I've replaced the drive & laser w/ ones that I know 100% for sure are good, as I can test in other consoles I own. System kept asking for 3.55 update & getting stuck at around 30% before giving error message. I managed to get out of the update loop by using my E3 card reader USB dongle, entering factory service mode, & manually installing any FW i choose. I've tried official 3.55, ROGERO, & KMEAW. On all FW's tested I get the same results. Drive will accept & eject discs just fine, but will never spin disc or attempt to do anything. I'm able to install packages just fine on CFW's, but always get the black screen when I attempt to run any of them. Since drive board is built into the MOBO it's not as simple to just remarry a new drive to this system. I've been digging everywhere online for some sort of solution to my problem. Maybe a BDB (Bluray Drive Bypass) CFW will allow me to run my packages atleast? But everywhere I have found download links for either Rebug BDB or KMEAW BDB CFW's the links are down. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I should try or think I may be on the right path by looking for BDB CFW? Maybe a good link for download? Any suggestions will be much appreciated.
