Custom Firmware that could allow Downgrade (theory)
Custom Firmware that could allow Downgrade (theory) –
I was thinking earlier (i am no dev)...
Since right now we can not downgrade once a user is on 3.55OFW, could a possible 3.55CFW be coded in such a way that a custom lv2diag was used to allow downgrading.
The process could work by the user upgrading from any OFW to CFW3.55 then the user could have the ability to downgrade to 3.41
Doing this would remove the need for a 3.55 manager as we would have PSN access for our retail games, as well as being able to play our backups on 3.41
Backups (piracy in most cases) have no place on PlayStation network, and i think this would allow for the bets of both worlds.
Really i am hoping to get a dev to comment on whether or not this is possible

if you want to start to try to fix it, you should download all the failoverflow tools/ ps3utils/ps3dev/ ps3tools so on so forth.
and then unpacka pup, change the version.txt to 3.55
unpack upl.xml.pkg to upl.xml
change version 3.41 and build number to 3.55
and you might be getting close.
you still would have to change core_os to 3.41 as 3.55 doesnt allow downgrading, but getting the core_os to read on 3.55 is going to be tricky
I have the core_os_package.pkg from 3.41 decrypted infront of me, i have extracted it aswell, i just need to know which file i need to change to make it think its firmware 3 .56 so it will install
