you wont need a public dump. dump your own then follow the wainikoko unbrick method and replace the core os from an unpacked pkg, isnt that how it works?, if not just hex dump the coreos from grafs public nor dump, coreos is coreos shouldnt matter nand or nor, then rebuild reflash and your complete ?
FWIW, I dumped my NAND from Petitboot CLI using the command "dd if=/dev/ps3vflasha of=/tmp/petitboot/mnt/sdd1" sdd1 being my USB stick.
Math answered my question about this, saying if you copy your ros1 and paste it over ros0 (if it's in Service Mode) it'll work fine, so you shouldn't need a 2nd dump to work with. I will extract my CoreOS from my CECHC03 dump and upload if you guys want anyway.. What offsets do I extract? I know it's: "Right after the second “6F FF E0″, remove the next 7,340,000 bytes" and on my dump that should start from "00780030" but I'm not 100% sure where it should end.. Someone let me know and I'll reply with it uploaded. Although there's nothing wrong with using an unpacked Core OS..
I'm assuming you need to have your PS3 on not just powered in Standby mode in order to read/write. I guess you'd have to turn off your PS3 after replacing the NAND for changes to take effect?
I couldn't find this anywhere, but what's the voltage a NAND flasher should be? I'm going to build one but I need the voltage?
Edit: NVM, i'm assuming it's between 3-3.6 volts since that's what it says on ps3devwiki
NAND OR NOR? NAND 5V,NOR 3.0 VOLTS
I think that if you only need data and address line from NAND/NOR programmer since you will use PS3 console in standby mode (like in Wii NAND flasher using Infectus & Xbox360 JTAG Flasher).
So you can power NAND/NOR chips using console it self.
I had done it before to flash a backup of my Wii NAND using infectus as a NAND programmer.
Sorry is the dump process same for NAND and NOR? Because I understood that with NOR some of the firmware is saved on the HDD.
