It would be nice to get ps3load to work, but I'm not sure exactly how to fix it...
Does anyone know how?

I think your miss-understanding the ethos of Geohot's firmware, I'm for one convinced he designed it strictly for homebrew.
Probably better to use one of the other firmware's if your after playing pirate/backup games.
What are you on about? Do you even know what ps3load is? It's one of the best homebrew there is! It lets you load homebrew on your ps3 from your computer, so you can develop hombrew way easier! Just build self, and load it, no need to package or even install it.
Appologies, not sure how I miss read that so badly (was thinking pl3). Have read far too many piracy/crap posts etc and guilty of assuming.
Time to call it a day for me on here, if any admins/moderators read this post and can be bothered. Please delete my account.
No need to delete your account over something so small and insignificant. It was only a simple misunderstanding, don't worry about it.
As for the ps3load thing, it would greatly help in development of homebrew applications. I would be able to launch ps3load, then essentially "build and run" from my computer. From there, on quit, my homebrew application can send a call to launch ps3load once it quits bringing me right back to where I started with the least amount of effort for me, and saving me loads of time!
We know that geohot's firmware has to load signed packages and SELF files, so this should work as long as it's signed... however, it just quits... I'm going to try to mess with the code to provide a readout of what's going on so I can determine what the exact problem is, I figured I'd ask here first just in case so my work wouldn't be useless.
I'll let you know when I get somewhere with this, I wish my USB HDD was working though... I have to tackle this before I go anywhere...
