    Hello all!

I've repaired my ps3 and other peoples from ylod broken blu ray drives etc. Through my fixings and MASSIVE online research I found quite a few interesting things. during my first blu ray drive swap which was between a ps3 that had a kes400a and a ps3 that had a kes410aca I found the only way it could be done was the NAND or KEY chip swap or the software way which from what i understand is hard long and drawn out .

At first blurays and movies would not play back so I went back to google and found an answer on yahoo answers or something that said if you turn on the ps3 and hold the power button till it beeps and turns off it does some kind of reflashing of the blu ray after i did that the drive had its full functionality from then on.

My theory or question is if you took the blu ray drive out and stuck it in another ps3 without swapping boards or NAND chips and did the one beep on off would that remarry that drive to the ps3?

The other reason I think this might work is I found another answer from a guy who called sony and asked them about swapping blurays and they said that the drives weren't exactly married to the boards. I'll see if i can find the posts I'm referring to in the meantime if I do another bluray swap and this works ill let you all know!
