Bought a PS3 with no bluray logic board, how to get a bluray drive working?

From what I understand this is possible BUT all firmwares have to be patched first. Once you downgrade to 3.55 from e3 or progskeet you will need a 3.15 fw with a check lv1 patch. You will need the same pup added to the remarry files then in theory it should work, then you should be able to go back to 3.55 but you still going to need a patch. You will always need patches unless you go back to 3.56 or above.

i know you said the patches are always nessisary lol so i guess that answer is need it for all but are the patches nessisary for consoles with afactory firmware lower than 3.55?

From what I understand you will still need them. However someone in the e3 flash thread brought up the point that lv1 checking wasnt started until 3.55 and above so in theory you'll need to use a 3.41 patched pup to downgrade from 3.55 one already exist and after that in theory you should be able to get to 3.15 with out a patch.....keep in mind though no one I know of has tried to go this low.....I am extreamly interrested my self as 3.15fw is the one you need to remary most slims and im about to get a cech2001a slim pretty soon. I myself dont enjoy paying people big bucks to do something simple like remary a drive.

From experience, DGing with Progskeet with PATCHED 3.55 Kmeaw will definitely boot your PS3. but after "Downgrading" to modified 3.41 then to 3.15 OFW (unpatched) then exiting Service mode using LV2 ,I always ends up with a BRICK / YLOD (idk why)

Or maybe after Marrying BD I should have flashed AGAIN to PATCHED(No Check) 3.55 Kmeaw then exit on that FW ??
Haven't tried it again as I had desoldered the Progskeet on the MObo :-P
