i dont know if this was discussed but what i did when i was in a update loop was take out the cmos battery (if that is what you call it on the ps3) and put it back in and rebooted the ps3 and the update finished the battery on the phat model was on the bottom of the case and took all but 5 to ten minutes to take the ps3 apart and put it back together
hope this helps for the update loop pm me if you need more help
yes i told some users that as a last solution, http://psx-scene.com/forums/684902-post235.html (BluRay Drive bypass 3.55 CFW) but some people dont read, ( sorry i am in a bad mood )
let me know if it worked for you, if you dont get out of that loop you can try to disconnect the battery , ( this helped for me when i had red screens with warnings , disconnect the battery and then turn the cable of the battery and push them on the other two unused pins, turn console on, hit power button till it get green, turn of with big power button, then disconnect battery of the earlyer unused pins and let them unused again and turn the block of the cable and use the other 2 pins where it belongs ) only do this when nothing else helps. use at own risk,
i hope he fix it,its fixable
ps i was trying to build the 3,15 but couldnt find the original firmware, but i see someone else is making it already, hope he make a working one.

I have a PS3 (FAT) CECHG w/ 256 MB NAND that was caught up in the endless update loop, and I've since updated to this bypass firmware, and since I have a ctually found the blu ray logic board that SHOULD work with the PS3, now I'm not sure if the logic board alone will allow flashing the OFW without erroring, but I cannot flash ANY firmware without the bypass, even after downgrading to 3.41(*****) and attempting to flash anything other than a BDB firmware fails everytime.
My question is, with the original logic board shouldn't I be able to flash the OFW? Or do I need to have the entire blu ray drive in working order, or is it another problem of having an older firmware, and then upgrading to these blu ray bypass firmwares? Any help would be appreciated.
what firmware where you before the loop?
you can always try the solution with the battery, worked everytime for me , if i cant get out of a loop, i try some firmwares then i disconnect my battery, and format the HDD on pc in ntsc primary, then when i did that i go in recovery mode, not let go button first time till it beeps 2 times.
