Hi guys hello to everyone, new to the scene and this site looks great, i Have a friends slim ps3 who tried to carry out an update and whilst doing so screen went blank and has stayed blank since, i have no idea what update this was, also it was not hacked in any shape or form and he has gone offshore now so cannot get hold of him, tried to get into the recovery mode, but will not and screen stays blank. Although i a noob when it comes to ps3 side of things, have been into the xbox360 scene for some time, i would be grateful if someone could help us out here, thanks.

It's a brick. Find someone with a hardware flasher like E3 or Progskeet to fix it. Also, next time you should know what firmware you're on and what you're trying to install.

Yeah sorry bud - it's a brick. I bricked mine last week too. I'm waiting on an E3 Flasher to fix it. Look at the bottom of this page to see what you need. They have a list of retailers on this site. Or if you want to find a cheaper solution you could try to find a progskeet

Your only options are an E3 flasher, progskeet or a teensy board. I don't know much about the teensy board so I can't give advice on it
