So has anyone with an original 60gig Ps3 (with 256mb) tried this Wuangrza CFW? Did you successfully install it? It seems people are having success with it and I've been really patient up till now (and avoided some potential bricks in the process >.<).

These firmwares are just starting to be developed, and by the posts I've seen many have bricked their consoles. I think it's a good idea to wait awhile until a safer stable solution comes out.

I believe the Wuangrza firmware is safe, I too have the same console and would like a confirmation of it being a brick-less firmware.. PS3 weighs enough as it is... (ooooooo such a good joke no?)

Check the 90 page flame thread, im sure somebody mentioned it in there, if your head can handle the amount of troll that is..

Wutang / kmeaw are both safe as they only patch lv2 and lv1 and don't actually try to change the size of them in memory. The reason Wanin's CFW was bricking consoles is he modified the lv2 memory space which wasn't compatible with 256MB NAND units. I haven't received one notification of anyone bricking their console using Wutang or kmeaw.

you can go ahead and install wutang / kmeaw's CFW... you don't need to worry these CFW's won't brick your console.

    On my 20GB CECHB01 I went from 3.41OFW > 3.55OFW > Wutangrza FW > Geohot patch.

No issues at all, just be sure to let the geohot patch do it's thing if you go that route. It will do a sequence of odd sounding beeps, pause a bit, and beep some more and eventually power your PS3 down. Don't do anything with the ps3 until it powers down on it's own.

I haven't read of one person that has bricked their console via the Wutang/Geo or kmeaw method yet. So, I'd say you should be safe

Success ^^ My Sly collection now works. Woot. Bet PoP will too. So next question... how do I run my homebrew. I used kmeaw CFW. I noticed the two backup managers that were included with my download worked but anything previously installed under 3.41 didn't. Do I simply just reinstall them? Or is there a new pkg procedure I need to be familiar with?
