Again another BD problem
is your ps3 on 3.56+ ? if it is on 3.55 you can just downgrade and remarry a new board. but downgrade with the old board in it, then when you get to the firmware needed to remarry, turn the ps3 off, then put the new board in. then remarry.

Normally I would just swap the nand but I cant find it.
Could it be that the drive isnt married tot the PS3. Its a fat ps3 80Gb.
Where did you buy the laser from?? In my experience you most probably bought a cheap refurbed laser from china, a lot of sellers on ebay sell them as "new".
I've experienced this myself a few times where a new laser fails after a day or 2, now i avoid those sellers and only get my lasers from sellers who offer at least a 1 year warranty even if they cost slightly more. I would recommend NexTek Repair on ebay, never had a problem with their lasers and they all come with 1 years guarantee.
