But it run under a linux too, like xbox version, i´m wrong?
What make this conversion so difficult now with Jailbreak?
Looking at the website, it strikes me as x86 only (the official version that is). This might be the reason why it only got ported to the original Xbox out of all other consoles - it was x86-based, same reason why there is a Linux version (for people with an x86-based processor only), but it wouldn't work on anything based on a PPC processor (PS3, Wii, Xbox 360, older Macs, etc)

All versions of Mugen are compiled for x86 chips while the PS3 is PPC, an x86 emulator is 100% necessary.
On top of the issue with it being x86 you also have other issues. Like choosing which distro to support. Dealing with that distro's flaws (like the crazy memory leaks and poor data cache flushing of the winmugen distros). Handling sound, writing new video drivers, plugins, and support for custom content. A handfull of things. Not to mention some content out there puts a strain on even some modern PCs or the content is so heavy in terms of size that load times are rather long.
On my now defunct PC, a stage myself and another made took anywhere from 10 - 20 seconds just to load. This is that stage. Beware, the sound in this video is quite loud.

Thing is, with the PS3 having so little RAM I would be worried about stages like these crashing a MUGEN port like it was a dixie cup. God forbid if you have a screenpack like the CSX-III screenpack.
I don't know about the PS3... but consoles with little RAM (Main RAM and VRAM) like the PS2 are designed to have the programmers replace the game's graphics and sound files dynamically on demand (That's why you can see some 2D fighting games reading data during a match if you use a USB HDD).Thing is, with the PS3 having so little RAM I would be worried about stages like these crashing a MUGEN port like it was a dixie cup. God forbid if you have a screenpack like the CSX-III screenpack.
WinMUGEN was built buggy... and is still usually illegal to distribute and use anyway. On top of the issue with it being x86 you also have other issues. Like choosing which distro to support. Dealing with that distro's flaws (like the crazy memory leaks and poor data cache flushing of the winmugen distros)
Now that Electbyte is back... WinMUGEN is now more or less dead.

I know this thread is kinda old but now that AsbestOS is able to go on PS3 ( and I think linux) is it possible now for Mugen to get on a PS3?
How can you say the PS3 lacks RAM when M.U.G.E.N is on Xbox1? Check out Mortal Kombat Project for Xbox, I got another one on my Xbox1 but I can't remember which one it is but it has TONS of characters…the Xbox1 is only 64MB RAM
