100% Discless Compatabilty
100% Discless Compatabilty –

As time passes more and more of our cfw ps3 bluray drives are going to fail, as some have already. I am starting this thread for discussion on the possibilties, and implementation of total discless support, either through a backup manager or a cfw.
The understanding I have of it is that ps3_app_home is there for game developers to test games during development. The reason some backuped games still work from there is because the developers did not remove the function before the game was sent to sony for mastering.
It was suggested to me by someone that if you change the rco string from ps3_app_home to bdvd then that might have some effect.
Any way I have to leave it for others with the skill to come up with any ideas as I have all the desire for this but absolutely no skill.

i dont know but it seems to me that the way the cobra documentation is worded(although i didnt read the manual yet, just the web site)it seems that if you use the cobra and have your games backed up as iso then the discless would be 100%,then there is always installing the games to the xmb with pkg files, not sure if that could give you 100% or not either though but i eould think that it is possible

I just seen that about the iso stuff with cobra, and it looks really good news. The pkg method only works for certain games and the compatabilty is much worse than backup managers.
