Yo Balto! –
Hey i thought i'd ask you since you know your shiet....i heard that playing dvd rips on cdr will screw your laser..while some people say it's fine...whats the story....i need to know the definite answer....also i have windows xp and i need to change my cdrom settings such as auto insert notification and blah blah blah...it's not in the control panel anymore...any ideas?
as a general rule.. using ANY writable media will have an effect on laser life, as writable media has a lower reflectivity then pressed media. Using high quality media in CDR's and DVDR's will dramatically REDUCE not eliminate the effects though. I disable auto-instert from within primo dvd, cause it has an option. I think nero has the same sort of thing.
I know, i'm not Balto, but i've got so much change lyin around i've gotto get rid of my 2cents.
How come I have been using my cd-roms and dvd players for years and they are still running and there are so many issues w/ ps2's lense? do they use really cheap parts?
