WinRAR error –
I was just trying to extract a DVD-R when I recieved the following error:
! Write error: only NTFS file system supports files larger than 4 GB
I'm running Windows XP and have extracted full DVD's before with no problems. I also have the latest version of WinRAR. Any ideas as to what the problem could be? I'm trying to extract the Echelon USA Devil May Cry 2, if that's relevant.
running XP does not necessarily mean that your file system is NTFS. and other releases may have been multi gi files..
maybe you should try updating winrar..
You may have to either convert you fat32 filesystem to ntfs do a fresh windows install with the ntfs filesystem
that error means you dont have NTFS file system. You'll have to convert it with Partition Magic (or at least thats what i use).
Balto posted this a while ago, if i remember correctly...
fat16 = 2GB File Limit
fat32 = 4GB File Limit
NTFS = 3TB File Limit
Some people find its easier to just create a 5GB partition and format that to NTFS file system.
oh and btw...not all DVD images are over 4GB
No need for third-party programs.
