will putting dvd-r rips on a dvd work on no solder modchip?

I was doing some research and it seems that the swap magic modchip fails to play almost all dvd ripped games. Is this because most of them are over 72 minutes? If I copy the image onto a dvd and use the dvd boot disk will this work?

Arrrrrrrrr, I dont' thinks so, since the DVDrips remove the DVD check codes from the actual program of yon game. These checks tell yer PS2 wether or not the game be CD or DVD. If'n you have the ability ta burns DVD, then make a FULL backup instead of usin' rips. That'd be my choice of action, so it would.
