What type of burner?

Hi all,

I have been burning ps1, pc, and dreamcast games for a while now, and never ran into a problem. That is, until I started on ps2 games. None of the copies I made work. I have a V7 with a magic 3.1, i know that can't be the problem because I have copies that i bought off other people and they all work fine. The real question is, could it be my burner? I own a old LG burner, 8x4x32x. I heard something about firmware, what is it? Do I need it? btw, the copies are all rips, as are the ones I tried to burn myself. could someone try to help, thanks in advance.

well all i can tell ya is that i couldnt burn ps2 games on an LG 12x, but when i tried same setup, software, settings etc. with my old HP 8x everything worked fine.

so yeh could be firmware, or else try another burner at a friends and see if it works.

must i have an dvd to ripp an pl2 game? where can i download an playstation 2 game!??

Yes, you need a dvd-rom to rip a dvd game. You can pick one up dirt cheap. This is not a warez board. Talking about where to download games is not allowed.
