I am currently in the works of backing up my PS2 game library and curious what burn to ISO (image) speed is best for accuracy?

I am using IMGBURN to make the iso image and think it was on 18x speed when creating the backup iso images. I looked at the bottom of some of my discs and they have minor scratches and question if it was able to make a 100% reliable backup at that speed.

I plan to store the ISO's on a hard drive so I'm not worried about writing speeds to disc.

I rip mine using the max setting with imgburn and burn at 50% of max blank media speed.

Because the PS2 is using regular DVDs with ISO fle system, they are also using the regular DVD error correction and recognition system. So there is no reason to slow down the reading process, your DVD drive will report reading errors to you at any speed. Just in case there are reading error, you can try to read the media with a very slow speed to increase reading accuracy and sometimes you can rescue media with this.
    Slim PS2 SCPH-70004 (v13) w/ FMCB, 3x Sony 8MB, 1x MaxMemory 16MB (Backup card)

I'm not available for FMCB installation service until I can guarantee a processing time of a few days again, sorry.

All information given makes sense. I got through about 6 titles and had a flashback of the multiple times I've had CD / DVD's not be readable after some time. I understand this is why you want to use quality media b/c better dye means it lasts longer, but I will keep it on backup hdd I have setup in raid for other important files.

I originally came on here b/c I made an ISO that wouldn't play but got that sorted out. Now I also have some reassurance about ripping speed for my next project.
