first, wrong forum...now, for ur question:

a video card? u mean tv tuner. but yea, they do sell those. the cheaper priced ones are almost always external, so u should have little problem hookin up to ur laptop.

that's from pinnacle studios, it includes the software i think... that's y the price is high. else, the ati tv wonder is the best for a pc.

keep in mind the prices are canadian dollars

There's a lot of boxes out there that can connect through your USB port. Some are straight video capture that connect via RCA/Svideo, some are TV Tuners that connect directly to your cable (these sometimes have RCA/Svid option also). You can find "cheap" ones for around $60 US online (www.pricewatch.com), namebrands probably around the $100 mark.

Best thing to do is shop around locally or on manufacturer websites to get the feature/software set you like and jot down the model numbers, then hit a retail search engine like pricewath, cnet, etc. and find the best deal you can. I've been very happy with most links I've gotten off pricewatch--they include shipping estimate breakdowns in the quotes so you get a total cost picture up front.

If it ain't broke don't try to fix it! But, hell if you can tweak that bastard just a little bit more....hehehe.
