Verbatim DVD+R/RW Drive
Anyone had any experience with these drives? The price seems nice and it will actually run on my antique pc. I know that the pioneer drives are prob alot better but I cant see buying a new puter then spend another 300 on a drive just to backup ps2 games and movies. I can buy alot of backups from someone else for the $700+ that would cost me.
this is about all the info Ive found
Internal or External - Internal
Max DVD Write Speed 2.4x
Max DVD Rewrite Speed 2.4x
Max DVD Read Speed 8x
Writing method DAO
Ive seen them even cheaper elsewhere but theres no additional info
Thanks in advance for any usable input members might have.
$300? You can get a Cendyne 105 for well under $200.
why would this drive work with your old computer and not others. how old are you talkin about here?
I had a friend who offered me a great deal on his pioneer ao5(I think it was) and the min sys req for it was pent3 800mhz and my sys is several hundred mhz below that this seemed weird to me I have burned data cd's in the past at 14x with no underruns yet I cant burn dvd 1x which is like what 1.3mb/s
gonna check into the Cendyne 105 when I get a few min free but its back to work for now
The Cendyne 105 is the Pioneer A05/105. It is just rebagged and sold as a Cendyne. The drive is even recognized as a Pioneer by your computer.
