I currently have a messiah chip installed in my buddies old v4 1b 30001. It boots ps1 backups/origs and ps2 cd-r backups and dvd originals, it however will not boot any dvd-r backups on verbatim or even pioneer media (these are confirmed working dvd-r backups which work on my v5 apple mod ps2 and v5 magic2 ps2). Also he did have a neo 2.2 installed before this for cd-r backups never used it for dvd-rs though. Im not sure but are there any points on the install for the messiah which are specific to booting dvd-rs. When the dvdr is placed in the machine it just sits at the browser screen and eventually stops spinning and gives up. I did clean the laser, my only other option then would be to adjust the dvd pot or replace the laser correct? I know adjusting the pot is risking especially since it could mean losing all dvd funtionality. Any help or opinions on this situation would be helpful. Thanks guys.
