Urgent Help needed

Hello, I am new to this fourm but since x-mas is rolling around the corner i need help on a purchase.

I am planing on getting the new sony dvd burner when it can burn all formats. By my question is i boot my cd-r with the HL method/swap method, my console has no modchip or usb mod, will i be able to boot dvd back ups with just these methods? Or do I need a mod chips

LH yep but you will need an original dvd that is larger than the dvd-r , also what are you using ar/gs if so what gsV because after the gs boots and you put in original (normal eject so it reads that its a dvd) it spins up and you then have to make it stop to swap in dvd-r, let me know if you need more info but list gs V#, its around the inner ring on the bottom (hard to see)
