This is the first game ive had troubles making a backup copy of.
I've tried DVD Decrypter and Alcohol 120, but both kick back errors at 99% of the reading process "Unrecognizable data". If i choose to ignore there error it just comes up again.
Has anyone else sucessfully backed up there copy of Resident Evil : Outbreak ??
yeah prolly dirty disc and USE VERY GOOD MEDIA
for the load times suck in the original and good media is needed just to maintain the long original loads.
you can try a disc copy instead of ripping out first.
i dont recomend disc to disc you would have more coasters then the neighborhood pub. always burn to hdd to avoid as many errors as possible unless you do a simulation of burn first.
cragster : Media isnt the issue im not even at that part yet. I cannot make an image file of it. It errors at 99%.
It's not a dirty disc either its brand new out of shrinkwrap
do you have a dvd rom and a dvd burner thats seperate. i know it may sound stupid but at times my dvd rom cant read a disc so i have my burner read them and it works. i think because its being read at a slower speed oppose to the max or higher speeds on the dvd rom. if this doesnt work what version of decryopter are you running is it the up to date one? hope this helps.
there is probably a purposely made error on the disc. it happens with lots of games i have. just set it on ignore read errors and leave it on for a long time. in dvd decrypter lower the retries on disc error to 0 to speed it up. it will take a bit of time but the iso you get should work. this is why i recommend disc to disc copy. it will copy everything including the errors. in this case the faster and less accurate the read the better.
mann75 : Yes i use my DVD writer for everything, its the the only rom drive i have in my system right now.
bladezero: I thought about that because it was common with PSX games back in the day aswell. This is just the first time ive encountered it with a PS2 game.
Negative.Dvd's are not Cds to have purposely made erros.THe laser is not as tolerant.I have yet not encoutered a single ps2 dvd that cannot be made Image on my Hdrive.I am using a Pioneer Reader and a Plector S-ata recoder.And I do own the Outebreak PAl which I succesfully tranfered to HDD to use with Hdloader...Quote:

mine is NTSC, dont think it makes a difference though. Its just the last 1% that errors repeatedly when trying to rip the image to my hardrive.
