I tried the patch on Kessen3 (the program said it was patched successfully). Burned it on Ridata media and used a Pioneer burner. It did not work on my PS2 v7 w/ Messiah 2 Pro mod. The PS2 would just hang on the browser screen .

I know the game was burnt successfully because I have a PSTwo with the Toxic BIOS and the game runs fine on that system.

Anyone have any success stories with this patch?

I have another DVD9 game to try it on, but I would like to know if this thing actually worked for anyone before I waste anymore media.

I don't think Messiah supports DL backup media.

Unless you set the booktype to DVD-ROM it probably won't work. Second, Ridata D/L DVD+R media isn't the best to use. I for one will not touch anything but a Mitsubishi Chemicals (Verbatim) D/L DVD+R disc at this point since D/L quality and compatibility really seems to be up in the air. For me the patch was almost instantaneous. I will try it out in a bit and let you guys know how it goes.

this patch rocks, the game is working.

i'll tell you a little my adventure to copy this game

first, of course i use dvd decrypter latest version, i choose the .mds in the patcher, the patch lasts two seconds.

i checked, it modified the iso, i open dvd devrypter, i load the .mds, i change the book type to dvd-rom within the option drive (for dvd+r dl media) [don't use temporary it produced a coaster with dvd+r dl as booktype).

definately rocks, i am using it with a matrix infintiy firmware 1.4 on a pstwo, the media is a traxdata dvd+r dl

i know this firmware was supposed to patch gt4 on the fly to play it, however i have the jap version original a friend lend me and without the patch i produced a coaster, it loaded till the disclaimer and after that nothing.

i had two coasters but the joy of playing the game makes me forget that

    enjoy the game

My drive changes booktype automatically, so I'm going to guess that the problem is the media.

tried it and its working on a v7 with DMS3
not working on my v7 with Magic 3.1

in both cases it loads to the browser screen first, stays there for a second, then the browser screen fades. with DMS3 the Toxic logo comes up immediately. with Magic 3.1 it goes to the Red Screen of Death

any advice for the Magic 3.1? apart from get a new chip?

Which media and burner/firmware are you using? Anyways, I too have a working version. I used a Pioneer 109 with the V1.40 firmware. The Toxic patcher to patch the GT4 ISO, which I ripped with DVD Decrypter. I used 2.4x Verbatim D/L DVD+R made in Singapour (Mitsubishi Chemicals) but burned it at the max speed of 6x with DVD Decrypter. To my knowledge the 109 with the V1.40 revision will automatically set the booktype to DVD-ROM on D/L discs. I have a DMS3 V2.0 with the stock bios in my PS2.
