Temporary Games

I have had a recent issue with backing up DVD -R games. I backup the original game and it works for approximately 2 - 6 hours and then it goes bad (won't boot, loads to a title screen and freezes, etc.). This is NOT freeze technology as I have read about it. I have even tried loading the DVD WITHOUT the memory card and it still freezes. In addition, if I make a new backup of the DVD game, it works fine. It's almost as if the system is detecting that the DVD is a backup, and it's doing something like reading the same section of the DVD repeatedly until it renders the section of the DVD unusable. I have a modded PS2 with the Apple chip. I have several DVD games that this issue does NOT occur. It does NOT seem to affect any CDR games. Has anyone else seen this issue? Is there a patch for certain games to stop this? It has happened with Rayman 3 and Scooby Doo Night of 100 Frights.

Have you tried changing your DVD brands? Try a quality disc like Ritek or Taiyo Yuden. That might solve your problem.

Gotta be your media, laser, or combination of both. I've got a 3 month old copy of Scoob and it plays just fine. Burned on an A04 with Accu 2X Silver-top at 2X played in a v5 NTSC with no-solder mod and SwapMagic 2.

gotta be the media....your system got tire for focusing too hard on a low quality disc....
