Tekken 5 problems

Hey, never really had a problem no one answered before but here it is.
Backed up tekken 5. And I get a DRE when I try to play the Jin side mission or any of the arcade ports of tekken 1-3. I figure the reason is the game actully resets into another portion of the disc and can't find the real disc verification and then assumes the disc is bad. Is there any way around this. I use Swap magic dvd 2.0 and a fliptop. Thanks for any help.

The Tekken 1-3 modes work on my PS2 V7 with SM DVD 2.0.

Sounds like a bad burn.

I am using the Echelon Tekken 5 burned at 8x on a Taiyo Yuden DVD+R with a Pioneer DVR-109.

Playing the game works fine on my v12 slimline with Swap Magic 3.3, including History mode and Devil Within.

Played Tekken 5 thid morning on v7, it plays fine, what type of disc are you using. I use printable rytek.

Moto: Darker the dye, better the compatibility.

I opnly have swap magic v3.0 but I use Ritek discs.

ack, i have the same problem. i think my disc was scratched or something before i burned it cause it made some weird noises before i burned it and entered the disc. i believe my dvd+r is dark enough (atleast darker than most other dvd+rs) but it seems to be a noname company, the only logo i can see is "RW" (not a dvd+rw btw). ill try a reburn later and tell u what happens. anyway i have a modded ps2 (not sure which mod but it plays all the backups ive tried so far).

EDIT: oh and i think i should mention i used alcohol 120% to burn at 4x. i dont think that would contribute to the problem tough since it has never failed me before.

had the same problem, burned it with 2.4x with a nec16x burner, on a verbatim dvd+r 8x media. So the media shouldn't be the problem. Copied the disc to hd with hdloader and all arcade and devil within worked. So can't be the disc. DMS3 btw.

burned on cheap 8x media works fine for me.

burnt at 8x on 8x media worked fine good media though going to burn at 16x right now forcing it on 8x media
