Don't buy that 1 when u can get the nec 1300A for $113.00 yes is the same drive and iot works fine for backups either + or -

yeap if you update the firmware withthte hack from herrie is great. since i got my nec 1300A the same 440 tdk and some others out there only 2 coasters and hundreds of good quality DVD's go here for more info http://herrie.rpc1.org/

What fw release did you load? I heard about some problems with that 1300A with some of the first cracked fw's (even herrie's). If they've fixed them up, I might have to go ahead and bump up to 4X for that price!
