    I just ordered a magic V for my v7 ps2 and I have some
TDK dvd-r's. Will I have problems with these? I'm asking because if it will i'll go return them for some other brand or dvd+r's.

Also how hard is it to install the magic v's? I saw the installation diagram and doesn't look that hard. Is there any site that has DETAILED instructions like which wires are best and which solder is best to use etc....

TDK is one of the best out there, my mates got a v6 which can't read Princo dyes very well anymore. He then got some TDK's and they always worked perfectly. Personally I reckon the new TDK dye is even better than Ritek's best offering.

TDK CD-R's are no difference than any others, I know this because there using the same dye manufacturers as the weaker brands. However their Audio CD (which can handle data) are brilliant, these still use those classic deep blue dyes, but they don't like being burnt at high speeds.

As for DVD-R, yes they are one of the best out there. Haven't seen DVD+R's yet, but I no reason to believe they'll go cheap.

For me the best Media is Verbatim. Has anybody else tried them ? The bad thing is they are the most expensive. All Games and movies play great.

The worst media I have tried is Shinatro as that brought the death to my PS2 as soon as the game loaded.

I knew about this kid who's laser died out after using Bulkpaq Purples (1x). Its was one of those SCPH R models, so that didn't help either.

Yep, mine was a 4x purple dvd-r and it just killed the lasser on first load. People should stay away from them.
