  1. #1 Swap Magic?

I am currently using ga Magic Case with the Swap Magic discs and backup my games with dvd+r. I have been successful on all games except two, Xenosage (Kalisto) and Wakeboarding Unleashed (echelon). I get the blue boarder successful loading screen but then it brings me to a black screen where it gets stuck. Did I burn these wrong or why don't they work?

Arrrrrrrr, flippy lids and swap magic will not work with ALL games. This be a known issue, so it is, especially with DVDrips.

yea i thought it was just dvd rips. I thought the games that fit on dvdr are suppose to work.

Nope. There is a list of about 20-30 games that aren't rips that don't work with swap magic.

    US V7 PS2 w/ Apple Pro
    Pioneer DVR-112D
    LG GCC-4480B 48X24X48X16 CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo

Not sure if Xenosaga is one of the problem titles or not, but you could be running into 2 issues with your rip.

The first is an often overlooked issue--TOC Size. I'm not sure what the final size is of the Kalisto Rip, but the SwapMagic DVD boot disc is only 4.35 GB. You would have to be able to perform a double swap with an older GS2/AR2 if your rip is over the TOC of the SwapMAgic.

The second could be your media choice. The +R format is known to be flakier than the -R format on some boxes.

Check your TOC's first. If they are in spec, then you could try it on -R if your burner is capable of using it.

    Good Luck!

I have the swap magic 2.0 on v4. Xenosaga does indeed work on it but you need a patch for the Kalisto dvd-9 to dvd-5 rip. I don't remember where I got it from but its on the net somewhere. I too had a problem playing it initially but when I patched it, it worked very good. I just couldn't stand the crappy video so I just wound up playing my original xenosaga instead. Just nice to have a backup just in case...

Yeah there are some games that don't work with swap magic, Splinter cell is one of them.
