I think this is chip related, the game freezes at intro screen (original does as well when chip is on). Anyones knows if there is a patch for this?

try to burn on a better media... my friend got a v12 with magic Kx+ and he did the whole game to the end.... so try to reburn it.. and dont use crapy media...
how can it be media if the original doesnt work with chip on?
Yes Magic chips and some others also have issues with this game. Unfortunatelly there is no fix for it, except swapping the chip.

my bad... didnt read the part about original..... but anyways.... I did see it work with a magic kx+.....so maybe too long wire or I dont know....strange.....:S
Did you see an original working with Magic KX+ when the chip was DISABLED or ENABLED ? As said the original works fine if the chip is disabled, but won't work if the chip is enabled. It is not the same. I have heard of several people with Magic like chips having problems with this Star Wars game... Not that it matters but yet another reason why I avoid from Magic chips.Originally Posted by andreq

This is a v9 with magic kx+. I read other people with kx or clones (muppet) have this same problem, it freezes at exactly the same point in the intro when the text is rolling up the screen. I couln't care less if starwars works or not but this is a customers machine who is a real ball breaker. I was hoping there was a patch or something
Yes, the syndrome is the same. As the text starts to scroll up the machine just freezes. I do not know of any patch that solves this problem at the moment. It would be great to test some other releases of that game to see what happenes but I am almost sure that this is a problem with the Magic itself as the game works fine with other chips. If I remember correctly a guy with a V12 also reported this problem. Though I do not know what chip he has, probably some cheap one, I think some iCE based clone or homebrew thing.Originally Posted by tony321

If anyone needs a fix for this it can be by saving a game (either use original or on another ps2 that doesnt have a problem with starwars). If u have a saved game the intro at the start is not shown so it goes straight into the game.
or you could just use HD loader...
