Star Wars Battlefront II - original wont boot with mod chip?
I have been out of the scene for a while with my ps2, recently my son has gotten into it and I have been backing up games for him and he has enjoyed the modded unit for a while now. I have a ps2 V7, if I remember correctly, it has a messiah 2 chip in it, that I put in years ago. I have never had a problem with backing up games until now. I have backed up every game with no problem, just make an image using DVDdecryper, or Alcohol 120 and burn to a DVD-R. All games I've done boot with no problem, originals and backups until Star Wars Battlefront 2.
This game is strange, I can not get the PS2 to boot with even the original disc, nor any backup. I have seen the threads on how to make a backup and store to a HD, but I do not have any setup like that at all, nor do I know how. But I thought if I was to follow that battlefront workaround, and change the SYSTEM.CNF file then save back to the ISO and then burn to a DVD-R, but the ISO says its too large to fit. So I am completely lost on what to do now. Does anyone have any tips on what I should do? Is it that the mod chip is not going to be compatable with this game, should I upgrade to a new modchip? I have even tried to set the modchip bypass, by pushing the reset button to turn it off, but the game will still not work (with the original PS2 disc). My son is dying to play this game, and he is heartbroken.
One last piece of info, this current setup works perfectly with Battlefront 1.
Any help would be appreciated!!
