I have splinter cell and with both the original and the backup, I cannot play the game. I get to the point where the mission is supposed to load, and it just goes back to the red screen that says "insert ps2 disc". This happens on both the original and the backup. I have a v7 with a Messiah 2 and i do not have a single game that does this other than splinter cell. Does anyone know what the problem is, and if so, is there a way to fix it, possibly a pacth or something? Thanks for any help.
Put your modchip in sleep/off mode, then try it with the original.
So basically is this game impossible to play with just a backup? Since it seems everytime you try to save it checks for a modchip presence...

shows there that others have goten it to play on a backup fine.
Works fine with a M2 here. No red screens on either orig or backup. No ethernet adapter in console if that makes any difference.
Same problem here. It gets to the point when it should start the first training mission then goes to the RSOD. I am using swapmagic until i get my new mod. Maybe it can be patched to remove the check.
V7 consoles are the only ones affected. since V7 has a double media check (correct me if im wrong)
i have a version 5 and it doesnt work
I just tried it on my V7 and it works fine. I used Maxell +R's, and have a Magic 2. Plays fine, copy and original. I do have the network adapter.
