Simple Newbie Question - burn from files?
Simple Newbie Question - burn from files? –

Quick newbie question:
I've got a DVD burner in my work laptop (lucky me) and a friend of mine wants me to burn a DVD PS2 game for him, now all he has is the files off the disc no image or anything just the files, now being an X-Box owner I know you can't just burn the files for an X-Box but can you for a PS2 or is he pretty rooted? I'm not going to waste a blank if i don't need to...
Thanks, NZLake

why can't you just make an image?

DOH!!
You could try it on an RW (if his box will read RW's)--but it will most likely flop. You need to image the original so it gets the pregap right and stuff. Also some files simply won't always direct copy to the hard drive...err... can you say "Copy Protection Schemes". Get the free version of Primo (Unless you already have Record Now Max on your Laptop--Primo is RNM in its infant state) and the updated PX Engine from Veritas. Links all over the place--just search on "Prassi Primo" and "download" and you should find it. Get the updates at veritas.com in the Record Now product links. Create a Global Image to the Hard Drive, then burn the image to DVD-R.
Good Luck!

youd just be wasting a blank, you need the whole dvd on an image to keep the lba etc.. intact, otherwise it just wont work
