Several Burning Issues!
Several Burning Issues! –
I have a couple of questions about backing up CD's using Alcohol 120%, downloadnow max 4.5 and CDRWin.
I have a Lite-On 48x24x48x (I cant find a support website anywhere for this product..firmware .e.t.c)
Why do i only get the option for 48x or 24x write in max download, it was a trial version but i cracked it.
I also assume that you select DAO RAW. Why is their no option to burn image XA/Mode 2?
I installed 3.9c CDRWin but it does not support my CD Writer it sais when i load it up, but when i look at their
support page it says they do support the Lite-On range, how can this be if i have the very latest version???
In alcohol 120% i select the Play Station 2 option and burn DAO RAW but do you tick the EFM box and the sub channel box???
Has anyone burnt Medal of Honour, Pro Evolution 2 or Colin McRae 3 with the rip kits provided on this site and any one of the above burning programs. I have tried burning at 4x on maxwell media (40x rated) and i still get a white or black screen after the Playstation2 LOGO and the games wont load.
Even when they get burnt using max download or Alcohol120% they dont seem to
burn in Mode 2/XA (as far as i know) and i read on this forum somewhere that it has to be Mode 2 / XA or the games will never work under any circumstances (and this is why NERO is hopeless)
My console has Messiah 2 chip (V7 MB) and works with original DVD games!
But i am just burning coasters. Is it media, the rip kits, the writing software.........
Lots of questions i know but i have seen threads with these questions in also that were never answered so could help quite a few people.
The coasters do actually burn correctly (but dont run) and all files appear on CD and i have even run a dvd checker over these rip kits at the end and found nothing wrong
Arrrrrrrr, ta be honest with ya I've never had any luck with CDRwin. Me tried and true program I use be CloneCD. I don't haves a DVDr (YET!) but using me cheap HP CDrw burner I rarely makes a coaster. I've got Alcohol, just haven't had a chance ta use it yet. One question though...are ye using CD/DVDr or RW I knows that'll make a difference.
As far as the other programs ye mentions, there be some tutorials available on using them 'ere I believes.
I am using CD's to Backup DVD's using Rip Kits but they just get stuck after the Playstation2 intro logo. I have tried 4x and on a nice maxwell disc and still dont work. I am assuming that my chip is in correctly cause it plays Pro Evolution 2 original DVD
Arrrrr, it could be a bad rip. Try backing up a standard CDrom based game and see if'n that'll play. If'n that plays then yer chip is good, it's just your rip kits that are faulty.
Thanks mate. I burned a psx game tony hawk 2 and it worked perfectly. Just need to find cd based ps2 game to test before i invest in DVD burner. Does the psx game working mean chip will be ok for DVD / CD ps2 backups or is this a diff issue all together.
Would like to know about the alcohol options to check and also why maxdownload only lets you burn 24x and 48x only?
And which is best out of maxdownload now 4.5 and Alcohol 120%
a> psx backups
b> ps2 cd backups
c> ps2 dvd backups
d> ps2 dvd to cd backups
should i use a combination of the two?
Arrrrrrrr, that question'll start an opinion war. Every one of us has his own perferances as ta what program ta use when backing up his games. Personally I like CloneCD. It's easy and it lets ya choose 1-4 speed (me burner's fastest is 4x though).
a>psx backups - I use Clone exclusively
b>PS2 CD backups - same as above
c>ps2 DVD backups - I don't have a DVD burner, so I have a friend of mine do it on his...not sure what 'e uses there
d>ps2 DVD to CD (aka rips) - I tries ta stay away from those buggers. If'n I ain't gettin' yon full game, t'aint worth it IMHO.
psx- who plays psx anymore? but i used CDRWin or discjuggler
ps2 cd- cdrwin or discjuggler
ps2 dvd- Prassi PrimoDVD, hasnt failed me
dvd to cd- you cant do that by normal means. even rip tutorials arent for noobs. just download them and burn them as cds.
