    Hi,

I keep seeing references to setting LBA to 12321(or some similar value) for the system.cnf file on some tutorials which involve CDGENPS2. Can someone explain exactly what this is doing and why it is needed? It looks like it's putting the file in question at a specific spot on the disc.

Can anyone confirm/add more info or just point me to some relevant information?

    Cheers

if you're using a swap disc it puts the file at the same place it would be on the swap disc as far as I know

since i wrote some of the more common tutorials, i can confirm what jesse said. the system.cnf file of the older gameshark 2 discs was located at the lba of 12231. matching the lba would allow for proper reading of the file structure. i believe swap magic discs probably put their system.cnf at this LBA just due to this precedent.
but now that no-swap mods are so common, this is somewhat of a moot point.
