Would it make sense to have a solo DVD-ROM for reading to image in addition to a DVD-RW?? Any advantages??
I have an A05 and was thinking of picking up a Pioneer or Liteon DVD-ROM. These will have a quicker read time than the A05 correct? What about on the fly burning of non-protected DVD-R?
    Crazy?

    Regards,
    Tony

Yes your rip times will be faster, but it is better to not burn on the fly, as it isn't as reliable.

I'll have to agree with bighap on that one. I have a Toshiba DVD-Rom and a Mitsumi DVD+R/RW. I found out that if I slowed dowwn the read speed on my reader to 1x then on-the-fly copies came out perfect using NERO Express on a Celeron 566MHz machine. Just my two cents. But a reader will also reduce the wear and tear on your writer too!
