Screen freeze with Minna no Tennis

I was trying out with a backup copy of Minna no Tennis on my authentic matrix infinity(firmware v1.88) modded ps2. The game boots but it freezes on the press start screen. I have tried it on other machines which were booted with other chips and it worked perfectly. In addition, I tried to toggle the options on the infinity manager screen and it doesn't help either. I have checked out other forums and it seemed that there are such an similar cases happens on ps2 which is modded with matrix infinity. I was wondering if anybody is able to run and play the backup of the game successfully on their modded ps2 with matrix infinity. Thanks,

I got MI green dot w/ 1.88 & it won't boot for me neither. It freezes at the 'press start' screen like you said. Are there other games that also freeze on boot up w/ MI? Tell me if you find a solution.

add: People have said that it works if you downgrade to 1.75 on gamespot/gamefaqs forum.
