@Scooter: I should have this finished by tomorrow so I guess just wait till then

@JetCat: the FIF files are basically a second TOC for each layer
they map out the location of each file on that layer and the size of the files. If you don't change the size of any files or the placement, then you don't need new FIF files and therefore don't need my script.

    GHWT-Fix v1.2 (LINK) by selyb

    Changes:
*Added browse dialogs for IML file and to find base files folder
*Added support to FIF for each layer
*Sorted hardcoded hash table and removed array sort function
*Added smarter and extra error handling
*Added code to make it easier to support other regions

    How to make flattened DVD9

    1) Extract all files from both layers to one folder e.g. "C:\GHWT"
    2) Delete FIF1.FIF
    3) Open CDVDGen (I used v1.5 patched)
    4) Choose new project then DVD-ROM Master Disc (middle option)
    5) Add "FIF0.FIF" first (This file cannot exist beyond LBA 65535)
    6) Add the rest of the files and folders from both layers
    7) File > Export Iml File, Save As "GHWT.IML" e.g. "C:\GHWT\GHWT.IML"
    8) If you want to use CDVDGen to create the disc image then save the project now
    9) Double click GHWT-Fix.vbs and follow instructions
    10) Receive a Done! messagebox
    11) Use your preferred method of creating an iso from the iml
    (I used gdvd4-iml2iso)
    12) Enjoy

    How to rebuild DVD DL

    1) Extract all files from each layer into different folders
    2) Edit/remove files as desired
    3) Open CDVDGen
    4) Choose new project then DVD-ROM Master Disc DL (bottom option)
    5) Add "FIF0.FIF" first (This file cannot exist beyond LBA 65535)
    6) Add rest of files for layer 0
    7) File > Export Iml File
    7) Switch layers with the little square unlabelled button
    8) Add all files for layer 1
    9) File Export Iml File, Save with different file name as layer 0 iml
    10) If you want to use CDVDGen to create the disc image then save the project now
    11) Double click GHWT-Fix.vbs and follow instructions
    12) Receive Done! messagebox
    13) Use your preferred method of creating an iso from the iml
    (I used gdvd4-iml2iso)

Hmm your settings as well as your media are correct..
You burner is fine as well as your firmware..

Your loading issue is running toward the 2nd layer..

I have done a lot of research for ya and I have yet to see that the Duo 3 Ultra mod chip can play DVD9 backups with out first being patched with the toxic patcher..
This is also true with your V9 with the CC chip..
If I can find any other info I will post it for you ASAP..

Im asking many others around the net to try to get an answer to your issue..
So please stay tuned for further info..

um, I think maybe you misunderstood

What I made is a program (visual basic script) that will generate a new FIF file.
All ISO's have a TOC that defines where the files are located on the disc.
GHWT loads its own TOC by reading FIF0.FIF for layer 0 and FIF1.FIF for layer 1.

Let's say you put a custom song in place of another song and your new one is bigger than the original. That means that every other file on the disc that comes after your custom gets pushed back to a higher number index. Well, if you don't update the TOC (and FIF files) with the new addresses for the files then the game looks for the files at their original locations and it reads completely wrong data.

GHWT-Fix will make a new FIF after you have created the layout of your game. You need this if you:

    1) add a custom song
    2) remove data from one of the archives
    2) flatten a DVD9 for the hdd
    3) use the DVD5 ripkit and then add a custom or change the layout or size of any files
    4) need to rebuild the ISO without the original layout for any other reason

You do NOT need GHWT-Fix if you do not rebuild the iso.

To use GHWT-Fix, you need to make all necessarey changes to game files, build the disc layout, then run GHWT-Fix as the last step before you build the ISO.

It´s true that the CC chip can play DL-games without the Toxic-patch
but then you must have the BM installed cause there is an auto DL patcher on the BM.
But the Duo3Ultra(it´s the same with Duo3Gold,Duo3) must have the toxic-patch otherwise it won´t work.(I have tried)
After almost 600 Crystal and Duo(and a lot of other brands) Ps2 chipping-installs
the only chip I´ve had a failure with even a org.game like GT4 is the old trusty
RIPPER 3 chip it won´t play the DVD9 game if you don´t switch the chip off.
