If nothing else, buy a few and let us know... ;)
:( no luck about the quality of this media, but hey is not going to bite (I hope), give it a try.
I tried some, its a average media, could have problems with games like GTA or Silent Hill....

USA v7
Magic-2 Red PCB
Nero
Pioneer 103
Samsung DVD-R from Meritline.com
Worked flawlessly with Burnout 2, GTA VC, Lord of Ring (Twin Towers), NFS 2.
Also tried DVD-R "copy" of movies (i.e. Spiderman) using iFoedit .91 which worked perfectly without skipping on PS2.
The meritline brand DVD-R also works well with PS2 - tried on v1, v4, and v7. Tried about 30 different DVDR backups without any problems.
In fact, USA v7 PS2 reads Pioneer DVD-RW (v1.1).
PS2 v1 and v4 does NOT play DVD-RW.
Played Sly Cooper in 7 days and rewrote NBA 2K3 over it.
And it works without a hiccup!
Kind of nice when you want to backup and try a game for few days without using up a DVD-R. Same holds for "copying" and viewing DVD movies (using iFOedit).
