Ritek G03

I've read good things about the Ritek G03 and G04 media. I'm looking to go the economical route and don't mind waiting on 2x burning speed vs 4x. Can anyone with the DRU-500 confirm that G03 burns at 2x? The site I'm looking at says "some report of 2x burning."

Also, are the white top G03's just as good as the silver top for PS2? This site sells "Ritek Authentic G03 White Inkjet Printable DVD-R media" for $72/50 pack. I just want to make sure the white tops are just as good as the silver.

My friend has a DRU-500 and he burns Ritek G03's at 2X. I have a Pioneer DVR-104 and I burn them at 2X as well. However...it all depends on the BIOS you have. Some will burn at 2X...just be sure you get the right BIOS and you're set.

The Ritek G03 media is very nice, and because of this 2X "phenomenon" over the past few months - the price has skyrocketed. I used to buy spindles of 100 for $80 shipped...wish I would have bought like 20 spindles back then....we need a DVD-R futures market.

Where are you looking to buy? I used to buy from SuperMediaStore.com but now they're prices are way too high. Vinpower on eBay is a reputable seller...I got a set of 100 G03's from him.

Be careful too because a lot of people will try to pass knock-offs as authentic G03's...be sure to ask before buying if they don't say they're G03 specifically.

The white injet Riteks will work just as well as the silver tops. With the right firmware you can burn G03s at 2x no problem. Firmware 1.0f and 1.0g both work for this. You can get them here

By the time I add 50 DVD cases and shipping, the total for 50 of the white top G03's comes to $102. I can order 50 G04 with cases and free shipping for $107. I think I'll go that route. Thanks for the help.

Sweet...nah was just curious, as they're prices beat SuperMediaStore by a few bucks.

I think I'm gonna get some of the white top G03's next time myself...only $129 versus $127 and they are in stock!
