If they are ripped right, yes.
Someone in another post said something about the network adapter changing the function of the reset button, if this is right how can you play ripped games like Socom with a magic3 where you use the reset to boot the disk ???
Could you elaborate on 'ripped right'?
i have magic2. i just boot straight away. no reset required. i just have problems connecting to certain game servers like nba live 2002, and twisted metal black online...i play madden and socom...a dvdr and a rip respectively.
I think what snoop means is when he says if its been ripped right he means:
Alot of the newer games that DO have online capabilities, professional rip companys usally rip Network settings etc from the games to get them down in size enuff
So ultimatly if you Rip yourself and not rip the settings etc you should be all set, but like i said most release groups DO rip these portions of games out,
Stick to DVD or DVDr if you can because you lose NOTHING from the game image then :)
Yea.:)
But games like SOCOM (best multiplayer up to now :santa: ), you didnt need to rip out the online portion, and the online portion really isnt that big on most games..
However, game companies are going to and WILL start implementing remote server checks.
These check if a modchip in the system is injecting the Scex signal needed to boot backups.
This means that even if you have the original, it will ban your PS2 from the online portion just for having a chip. :(
Protections are turning crazier these days.
YHeah but if i like the game enough i don't mind buying the original and I can turn my chip off so thats not gonna be a Problem for me !!
But Snoop if thats true man there are either gonna be alot of unhappy Peeps out there and are either gonna get another chip, or even console.
I thinks $ony arejust gonna shoot themselfs in the foot if they do that coz even if the system IS modded and the person HAS the original they can't play online. :(
THAT SUCKS !!! BIG TIME !!!!!
I just thought if this is gonna be a way to prevent ppl WITH chips playing online, cant a program be written to the game Disc or something auto telling the Network that their ISN'T a chip inside the console ???
Any Ideas ???
Their are always ways to reverse Engineer Things
Well not really, because the modchip is always on...
But.. it would work on the neokey!
Neokey on/off switch will turn off the scex signal and the servers wont detect.
But modchip developers can always make an on/off switch for their mods.;)
